In case you have missed the latest craze in real estate marketing, it really has been a big week of revelations about the hilarious lengths some agents will go to to secure a sale. Texas realtor, Jessica Arnett, really put her best paw forward recently when she donned a panda suit (yes, you read that right, a panda suit, we have no idea why) and posed for the prospective purchasers of her listing in Spring. Apparently, Jessica was inspired by the story of homeowner Lee Wilson of Cherry Burton, East Berkshire, who took the same approach to selling his home in May of this year. Encouraged by his real estate agent, Lee hired the panda suit with a view to making his listing stand out. Let's begin by comparing the natural habitats of the British & American Panda...And the natural environment of the British vs. American Panda's...Whilst we cannot determine if their diets are similar, the British and American Panda's dining style appears to differ markedly...Finally, whilst not conclusive, the British Panda appears to embrace bathing more enthusiastically than the American Panda...British Panda also nails work / life balance (whilst American Panda is notably absent in this area) ...The increased interest in these properties as a result of their novel approach to marketing has reportedly resulted in a click-through rate has been more than five times that of other properties. So, are we to accept then, that this stunt just goes to show that, when it comes to selling a home, there are no bad ideas—and home sellers (and agents) should keep an open mind to what might work? What do you think this strategy: smart or stupid? Would you use it to sell your own house? If you were looking to buy, would this draw you in? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
